Estyl, an Italian start-up applying artificial intelligence to the world of fashion, reports that it has closed a €600,000 pre-seed financing round comprising both equity and debt.
The operation for the start-up founded in Milan at the beginning of last year by Alessandro Monego, Victor Mita, Matteo Blini and Marco Blini (in the photo) is structured in two phases: an initial EUR 100,000 investment by Oblivion, an Italian company that invests in the Italian and European start-up market, and a EUR 500,000 bank loan granted by Unicredit.
By raising capital, Estyl is preparing to launch its MVP (minimum viable product) by spring 2025, with a mobile app that promises to transform the way people interact with fashion. Estyl’s app is an e-commerce aggregator that uses advanced artificial intelligence algorithms to offer personalised style recommendations based not only on individual tastes, but also on factors such as weather, personal and special occasions, and current trends.
Among the MVP’s main features are: AI stylist: a virtual assistant that learns the user’s tastes, suggesting outfits based on personal preferences. Thanks to AI-powered customisation, Estyl analyses your style over time and refines its recommendations, guaranteeing a tailor-made experience that evolves with the user; direct interaction: users can dialogue with their virtual stylist via text or images, receiving instant advice on how to match garments already in their wardrobe or on new purchases; swipe system: an interactive function that allows users to swipe between suggested outfits, similar to a dating platform, to save favourite looks or discard those they don’t like. The more you interact, the more the AI refines itself, adapting proposals based on your feedback; and outfit Inspirations: Estyl offers a curated selection of outfits, which users can explore to find inspiration for any occasion, making it easy to choose the perfect outfit without the stress of scrolling through endless online catalogues.
Estyl, with its AI algorithm, is able to randomly propose to the user clothes suggested by partner brands, creating unique and authentic combinations. In the future, the platform will further expand with social features, allowing users to share their outfits, exchange opinions on new trends and create a real fashion community.
“With Estyl, we want to change the rules of the game in the fashion industry, bringing personalised style consulting to a global audience says Alessandro Monego, CEO of Estyl, in a note – My vision is to maintain an international approach from the start, involving people from different cultures and backgrounds. We believe that the Italian startup ecosystem has a huge untapped potential, and we want to pioneer this renaissance. Our goal is to show that innovation can flourish here too, challenging the clichés about our entrepreneurial system’.
Estyl is the brainchild of Alessandro Monego and Victor Mita, who are already well-known in the Italian digital ecosystem for their roles as co-founders and, respectively, general manager and creative director at Mokka Studios, a Milan-based software house that in recent years has supported the digital transformation of scaleups such as Utravel and Not Just Analytics and has also worked with large organisations such as Daikin and PwC. The aim is to create a revolutionary platform designed to bring innovation to an industry traditionally resistant to change. Thanks to brothers Matteo and Marco Blini joining the team and the strategic support of Studio Associato Crovella-Blini, the project is now finding new life to transform the initial vision into a concrete reality, projected towards the future of European fashiontech.
“I was impressed by the project and could only do my utmost to successfully complete the fundraising that myself and the Crovella-Blini firm managed,” says Luca Blini, head of fundraising. “Our firm firm firm firmly believes in the potential of innovative start-ups, and we are delighted to have contributed to making Estyl’s future possible.”
