European Startup Nations Alliance, the Italian member is Innovup

Innovup, the association representing the Italian innovative entrepreneurship sector, announces that it has officially joined the European Startup Nations Alliance (ESNA), the European initiative that aims to boost the innovation market.

ESNA, created in 2021 and supported by 26 EU Member States, plus Iceland and Ukraine, aims to position Europe as a global leader in innovation and entrepreneurship by fostering dialogue and the dissemination of best practices.

Italy, which joined ESNA in 2021, formalised the appointment of Innovup as its representative this year.

Along with Italy, Ukraine and Romania also officially joined the alliance during the annual ESNA Forum event in Brussels during which the ESNA annual report was presented, to which Innovup actively contributed by providing data and information on the Italian landscape.

The report compares policies supporting startups in different countries and shows that Italy is making significant progress in developing its startup ecosystem. According to the analysis, Italy stands out for the rapid growth of its startup ecosystem, entering the top 30 of StartupBlink’s global ranking for 2024.

“We are proud to represent Italy in ESNA and to have contributed to the annual report, providing detailed data on the Italian situation in terms of business creation, investment, public procurement, gender equality and other key indicators,” Giorgio Ciron, director of Innovup (pictured here with other delegates), said in a note. “Participating in ESNA is a unique opportunity for Italy: we will be able to compare ourselves with the best European experiences, contribute to the definition of shared standards and strengthen our role in the development of an increasingly competitive and dynamic European innovation ecosystem.
