Fashion Hong Kong and the initiative promoted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, which comes to Milan on the eve of design week with a pop-up store dedicated to fashion and design by emerging Hong Kong companies and creatives.
The project is part of the international promotion activities of Hong Kong designers and brands, with the aim of strengthening the link between Hong Kong creativity and the dynamic Italian fashion scene. Since 2015, Fashion Hong Kong has actively participated in international fashion weeks and events in cities such as New York, London, Paris, Copenhagen, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai, offering a unique showcase for Hong Kong’s innovative and diverse design. The space hosts a selection of brands representing the Hong Kong fashion and lifestyle scene. From handbags to accessories for men and women, from jewellery to homeware.
Brands
The brand Maverick & Co. presents a selection of high-quality backpacks and briefcases. The jewellery sector is represented by Femance, Deror Jewellery, La Serenidad and Love by the Moon each with a unique and sophisticated style. Soulmatte and Jardin Des Fontaines present different models of exclusive bags and scarves, designed for an audience that is attentive to detail and elegance.
Get the Pong offers functional and timeless design elements. Izsel displays its collection of rain boots, combining functionality and style. The KnitWarm brand offers body-warming products made from heat-conductive fabrics. Morphil glasses combine exclusive designs with high-quality materials, ensuring style and comfort.
Crafts on Peel, a charity organisation, presents products that reinterpret traditional Hong Kong crafts with the aim of educating the younger generation to incorporate traditional skills into contemporary design. Hong Kong designers Angus Tsui, Bettie Jiang, Rickyy Wong and Nathan Moy will display a selection of their apparel collections in the pop-up store. The respective brands, Angus Tsui, Bettie Haute Couture, RickyyWong and Z I D I showed at London Fashion Week on 20 February 2025.

In inaugurating the Milanese space, Shirley Young and Chris Lo, respectively special representative for Hong Kong economic and trade affairs to the European Union and regional director for Europe and Central Asia, emphasised the importance of having given Hong Kong’s emerging talents the opportunity to present their creations in Milan, a highly sensitive context for this type of product. Ami Tsoi, creator of the Deror brand explained to Startupbusiness how her jewellery is pieces built with a history and often also made on the basis of individual customers’ requests, while Stanley Kwok, director of KnitWarm emphasises that her products are an ideal combination of the creativity of design and fashion and the intelligent and effective use of technological components.
Italy partner of BODW 2025
The relationship between Hong Kong and Italy when it comes to design continues thanks to the recent agreement between the Hong Kong Design Centre and the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong and Macau, signed by chairman Eric Yim, and Consul General Carmelo Ficarra, making Italy the partner country for the Business of design week 2025, the main annual international event dedicated to design, innovation and brand in Asia.
Yim said: ‘We were delighted to host more than 20 designers, architects and creative minds from the French delegation in Hong Kong (partner of the 2024 edition, ed.), and we are excited to extend our strategic partnership to Italy for BODW 2025, as our partner country for the third time, following previous collaborations in 2007 and 2017.
Ficarra added: ‘We are very excited about our collaboration with Hong Kong Design Centre for BODW 2025. Together, we will embark on a year-long journey that will celebrate our artistic traditions, while promoting creative exchanges between our vibrant cultures, with a view to strengthening commercial, cultural and educational relations related to design in all its forms in the international hub of Hong Kong.
Gianluca Mirante, HKTDC’s Director Italy, Cyprus, Greece and Malta, says: ‘The choice of Italy as a partner country for BODW 2025 makes us very proud. This partnership between Italy and Hong Kong will further strengthen relations between Hong Kong and Italy, both on a business and academic level, with a focus on innovation and design’.
