Wayla, the Italian start-up that provides the van pooling service and that a few months after the launch of the service in Milan has reached almost 50,000 downloads of the app to book and use the service, announces the news regarding the expansion of its operationtion. Starting on 19 March, Wayla’s service will be available in most parts of the city of Milan from Wednesday to Saturday from 7pm to 3am and on Sundays from 5.30pm to 3am. Wayla’s goal is to improve the efficiency of urban transport and reduce its environmental impact.
Wayla was born from the desire of its five founders (pictured) to respond to the increasing difficulty of getting around the city, especially in the evening hours, by proposing an alternative solution that complements the urban mobility options already available. Wayla’s service allows passengers to share journeys, reducing the number of vehicles in circulation during the evening and night hours. Wayla is proposed as a convenient, safe and sustainable transport option.
With an expansion of the fleet, which will count 9 vehicles, and of the driver staff, which has reached a staff of 9 hired drivers, starting 19 March Wayla’s service will be available with an extended operating window, from Wednesday to Saturday, from 19:00 to 03:00 and on Sunday from 17:30 to 3:00. By the end of the month, the area covered will also be extended to 90% of the Milan area. In the future, the expansion will continue in other areas, aiming in a first phase at consolidation in Milan, with the goal of reaching other Italian cities as well.
The number of rides is growing by double digits month on month and customer satisfaction is demonstrated by an average ride rating of 4.89 out of 5, with 86% of rides rated with the highest score.
“We are thrilled with the results so far and the reception our service has received. The expansion in Milan is only the beginning, our goal is to bring Wayla to other Italian cities,’ Carlo Bettini CEO and co-founder and Mario Ferretti co-founder say in a note. We want to offer a sustainable and shared mobility solution to more people. We will continue to work to improve and grow, always putting the satisfaction of our users and the efficiency of urban transport first’.
